Getting Connected

New Jersey City University’s Computer Science Department prepares students to do more than keep pace with the speed of technological advancement. We prepare our graduates to set the pace of technology, in the workplace or in graduate programs.

Our students master state-of-the-art theories and learn to apply them in real-world situations. After building a solid foundation in the essential areas of computer science, students take on advanced courses in specialized subjects based on their interests and career goals. Computer Science Department graduates go on to build successful careers as programmers, network engineers, software developers, systems analysts and much more. They work in a range of industries, from government to healthcare, from finance to fashion.

Students learn from teaching-focused faculty who have significant industry experience and are sought out as experts and consultants by businesses and government departments. Well-equipped computer labs are open 80 hours a week to support a hands-on learning environment. To optimize available resources, the department engages national and international industry partners.

Your academic and professional success is our priority. That’s why we offer activities that put students in touch with industry giants such as Google, and create fun learning opportunities that benefit students and the community. Students can also take advantage of our cooperative education program, which places students with employment opportunities that augment their studies and allow them to build vital work experience. Don’t let technology pass you by. Your future in computer science begins here. Contact us today for more information.
